Who we are

Offscreen In Real Life ("Offscreen") publishes city guides at offscreen-irl.com and on Instagram. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect

• Your email address, if you sign up for the Friday email or a city waitlist.
• A record of your consent (date, time, signup page), kept by our email provider.
• Basic email statistics (opens and clicks), used only to improve the guide.

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ad trackers. Maps on list pages load map tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address, as any web request does; no cookies are set.

Why, and on what basis

We use your email only to send what you asked for. The legal basis is your consent (UAE PDPL; GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Who processes it

Our newsletter provider, beehiiv, Inc. (USA), stores the list and sends emails on our behalf, under its data processing terms. Your data may therefore be processed outside the UAE and the EU.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only the record that you unsubscribed, so we never email you again.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent: write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office or your local EU data protection authority.

Photos

Venue photos belong to the credited owners and are used to show the place being described. Owners can ask for a change or removal at any time.
